National Walking Month: Week 2

National Walking Month: Week 2

This walk will take you down the high street, through Snoxhall's, and onto the fields behind Sainburys (behind the new building estate). It has been tried and tested and should take 25-30 minutes; however, this can vary depending on walking speed. This is a beautiful walk and I would recommend taking your lunch with you so you can basking in nature, if possible!

1. Start at Manns of Cranleigh.

2. Turn left and continue down the high street.

3. Cross the road when possible, recommended at the traffic lights at the post office.

4. Turn right just after Boots, and continue past the Co-op towards the leisure centre.

5. Walk past the leisure centre, keeping it on your left. You will cross a small bridge which will take you onto Snoxhalls (see image).

6. You will then cross Snoxhall’s field to get to the other side, there is a small pedestrian opening about one 3rd from the right (see image).

7. Go through the pedestrian gate and cross the road. There is an opening into the fields directly opposite the pedestrian opening (see image). Note: there are not normally any building obstructions, so please ignore what is shown in the pictures.

8. You will be faced with two fields side by side, the left is The Bruce McKenzie Memorial Field. You will be walking along the field on the right hand side, the path will be directly in front of you (see image).

9. Continue to walk down this path (about 5 minutes), then you will come to the crossing of two fields. You will notice as there the path will become thinner (see image), and there will be a gap on your left.

10. You will take this left, and walk around the field at a 90 degree angle.

11. Continue to the end of the field, and you will see another small gap on your left. Allowing you to turn another 90 degrees (see image).

12. Keep on the right hand side of the wooden railing and continue to walk around this field (see image).

13. Once you reach the end of the field the wooden railing will end, and you are able to walk around it and back to the opening of the fields – you should be back where you started (see image).

14. Cross the road and through the pedestrian opening onto Snoxhalls.

15. Cross back over Snoxhall’s field, and cross the small bridge.

16. Walk back towards the high street, the lesuire centre will be on your right.

17. Turn left once you reach the high street, and you will find yourself back at Manns.

18. Coffee time!

Unfortunatley we are unable to save PDF or word documents to our website. However, all the instructions and maps will be printed and available in store. If you would like a virtual copy or are unable to come into store, please email us at and we will be able to send it straight over.

Thank you. Happy walking!
