Keep your linens looking lovely for longer by caring for them correctly. “Many items we stock in this department are made from very delicate fabrics which should not be washed carelessly or along with every day items.” Denise Higham, Manager of the linen department has compiled this list of do’s and don’ts to ensure that your linens stay fresh for longer.

Always follow the washing instructions on the linen – don't try and make shortcuts – it will end in disaster!

Don't overload your washing machine, as it can break the fibres and damage your linen.

Hang your linens out to dry whenever possible. Tumble drying can be too harsh for some fabrics.

Take care when hand washing, make sure you rinse thoroughly to avoid large brown spots caused by un-rinsed soap.

Iron heavy cotton and linen on a high setting. Leave the cooler settings forpolyester and other synthetic fabrics

Wash polyester and blends at warm temperatures and cottons at higher temperatures.
