The Story So Far...
In 1887, the same year as Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, David Mann opened the doors of ‘David Manns & Sons’ in the centre of Cranleigh for the first time. The family originally lived above the shop, but as trade flourished living accommodation was turned into furniture showrooms, the gardens were transformed into stores and the neighbouring cottage was incorporated.
In 2012 Manns recognised the fast changing consumer climate during the recession and made bold decisions to totally overhaul and transform the brand, product selection and the store itself to ensure it not only survived through tough times but also emerged as THE destination department store to visit in Surrey.
Today Manns is a flourishing 40,000sqft lifestyle store with carefully hand-picked ranges in everything from Interiors, Furniture, Beds, Flooring and Curtains to Womenswear and Menswear, Cookware, Linens, Gifts, Luggage and the famous top-floor Toy Shop. Excellent personal service throughout all departments means customers will get the very best advice and knowledge every time they shop.
In December 2015, Manns embarked on a new venture and transformed the historic ‘cottage’ part of the building into ‘M Café’, which is situated at the front of the store on the High Street. Now Manns customers can take a break from their shopping and enjoy great local coffee, tempting tea’s and delicious lunches, cakes and pastries.
